Eligibility Criteria for admission in 1st Year BA, B.Sc, B.Com (Hons. & General)

NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO

B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com (Hons. & General) COURSES, 2015-2016

 The students intending to get admitted into B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com (Hons. & General) courses in 2015-2016 academic session at Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya are directed to follow the following details:

Students intending to apply for admission into B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com (Hons. & General) courses in 2015-2016 will have to register themselves on payment of Rs.150/- to HDFC Bank at different branches in Purba Medinipur like Tamluk / Kelomal / Mahishadal etc. before accessing the website for on-line application.

 

1 Minimum Eligibility Criteria: 50% in Subject or 45% in aggregate
2 Eligibility for students passed out in 2014 & backwards:
  1. i) No student passed in 2012 can be considered.
  2. ii) Students passed out in 2013 & 2014 can be entertained with usual deductions. a) But at the time of Counseling for those students: their old original Registration Certificates & the failed mark-sheets are to be collected by the college which is to be deposited to the V.U. for cancellation by the college before applying for new Registration this year.
  3. b) If any candidate suppresses the matter, he / she will have to give an undertaking that he / she was not registered previously by the V.U. & that he / she is not pursuing any other course simultaneously.
  4. ii) If any candidate got admitted earlier I the college but became unsuccessful and lost all chances due to him / her, he / she may be allowed to be admitted into 1st year in 2015-2016 session only after taking special permission from V.U.
3. Eligibility for students passed out from other Boards: Students passed out from other Boards can be entertained with usual deductions.But, at the time of Counseling for those students, the migration certificate or the documentary evidence as to they have applied for migration is to be submitted & verified.
4. Merit-Point Calculation:
  1. i) Marks obtained in the Subject for which admission in Hons. is sought + 10% of the aggregate (excluding the marks obtained in Environment Science).
  2. ii) Students seeking admission for Hons. in History, Philosophy & Political Science will be allowed to apply, even if they have not studied these subjects in H.S. level.
iii) Students seeking admission for Hons. in Economics & Accountancy will be allowed to apply, even if they have not studied these subjects in H.S. level but they must have Mathematics in H.S.
  1. iv) Students seeking admission for Hons. in Computer Science will be allowed to apply, if they have studied Computer Science in H.S. level, otherwise they must have Mathematics in H.S.
  2. v) Students who have passed H.S. in science but are seeking admission for Hons. in Arts subjects will be allowed to apply, but the marks obtained by them in Practical of the science subjects will be deducted from total, while calculating their merit panel.
  3. vi) Students opting for Geo. Edn. Phy. Edn. Comp. Sc. Music & Nutrition as their elective / comb. Subjects are to note that they may not be offered these subjects at the time of their admission, even if they qualify for admission into their chosen Hons subjects. They may be assigned these subs. subsequently on the basis separate merit-panels published by the college.
  4. vii)It is, however, to be noted that students intending to get themselves admitted into Honours courses in Economics, Computer Science & Accountancy and B.A., B.Sc., B.Com General courses may contact with the college office for direct admission, but they will have to first submit Rs.150/- to the HDFC BANK for their registration.

 

Students whose names will be published in the merit panel will be called for counseling / for verification of their original testimonials as per the dates enclosed, after which they will be provided with an authorized token with which they will submit their requisite fees to any of the designated branches of HDFC Bank.
